When begging , We lived in a shed outside the temple , There are too many beggars , Don't let us in , I don't know whether it is a monk or a Taoist . I often hear people say ‘ Zhongnanshan ’ An immortal , It is a good place to practice , I think “ Zhongnanshan ” There is a word "Nan" in it , It should be in the South , I sneaked south a few times , As a result, they were sent back by others . My childhood is over , And I didn't get married .
When I was a child , The most envious thing is that others can learn . Beggars can't afford to pay their tuition , I just stood outside the school window and listened , As soon as class is over, I run . one day , The teacher stopped me and asked me , child , Don't run , I think you love studying , Why don't you let your parents take you to school ？ I said my parents were beggars , Can't afford tuition , I can't afford to eat . The teacher brought me a steamed bun , Said to me, , Then don't go back , Stay at school , Help with some work by the way . therefore , I'll stay and cook for the school .
At that time , I always finish my work early every day , Wait in the classroom . That time was the happiest , Because the teacher is kind to me , But only happy for two years .
One night , My brother came to school to see me , Knock on the window outside , They said that they had not asked for food for three days . I took some steamed buns , Ready to go home to see my old mother , But as soon as I opened the door, I met the village chief . The chief didn't know where to go whoring , Dare not go home , I came to school to sleep in the middle of the night , Our brothers stole the school buns , Kneeling in front of the captain and crying . The chief said that this was not the way , Let me help you think of a long-term plan .
It didn't take long , The captain told me to join the army . At that time , The poor become soldiers , The rich pay , A soldier can exchange thirteen hundredths of rice and ten silver dollars . Because I did something wrong , I had to be a soldier . My family finally got only two loads of rice and two silver dollars , The rest were swallowed by the Baochang . I don't know where I can go , Crying at the gate of the temple , Now , A lame Taoist comes up , He asked me why I was crying ？ I said, , I want to become a monk , Kowtow to this , That kowtow , People don't want . The Taoist said , You come in with me , They don't want you , I will take you to my temple . Later I learned that the Taoist priest was my master's nephew , He became a monk in Huashan , As soon as he said , My master just left me , I came here in October , The fifteenth day of the first month of the second year , Shifu asked me to become a monk .
Two When I first became a monk , I didn't learn much about Taoism . Master can't read , I won't do my homework sooner or later , My elder martial brothers who have been a monk for seven or eight years can't do anything , All day long, I just farm in the mountains . Meet wandering Taoist friends who know how to chant sutras , Let's just kowtow to others , Let someone teach you , But a tutor , I don't know words , Only one sentence at a time can you learn to sing , Then look at the words .
I'm responsible for cooking for everyone , It's been more than ten years . At that time , Just get out of bed every day , It is impossible to have another rest . I have to get up in the middle of the night every day to make a fire 、 carry water with a carrying pole 、 Cooking . It takes twenty minutes to walk to the place where the water is carried , Take four loads first , Bring the pot to a boil , Pour the rice , Pick up two more loads , Then burn incense 、 Sweep the floor 、 Stir fry 、 Feed cattle 、 Chop wood , Start making noodles , Now , Genius is bright 、 A chicken crows , I told them to get up and eat , They finished eating , I wash the dishes . People keep coming . One person , The master said , Zhishun , Get a bowl of noodles for the guests , I have to start the fire again , roll dough , Cook noodles for others , Sometimes I have to cook eight or nine meals a day . Busy during the day , When it was dark, I saw elder martial brothers meditating on the Kang , I also meditate with you . I'm afraid of heat , Stay on the Kang all night , The next day the corners of my mouth will blister , I took a door plank and meditated on the ground .
At that time , I don't know anything , When an expert comes to the temple, he doesn't know how to ask others .
one day , I haven't meditated for five minutes , I feel my breath is getting smaller and smaller , The mountain was covered with clouds , It suddenly filled the air and surrounded me , I don't know where I am sitting , All I saw was that the clouds kept rising , As soon as the clouds close , The Qi pulse on the body stopped . When the clouds are all gone , My heart is cool , Just feel this breath again .
I asked some of my senior brothers , Are you still breathing in meditation , They say , How can people not breathe ？ I went to find Shifu again . I said, , The master , You are merciful , I have something to ask . Master said , What are you asking ？ I said, , The master , I meditate , It won't be long before , How can I know clearly in my heart that there is no breathing ？ Master said , You can get very , I've only been a monk for a few days , People can live without breathing ？ That's monkey business ！ in fact , My master didn't reach that level , So he doesn't know .
after that , Everyone knows that I have built high . one day , A Taoist friend who has practiced for decades said to me , Little friend , I have been here for half a month , They all say you're tall , I don't think you have time to meditate all day , How did you fix it ？ I don't know how to fix it . I later learned that there are three levels of cultivation , I went to the top without any guidance from the beginning .
There are four levels to becoming a Tao . Pass the first level , All diseases go away ; Pass the second level , The saliva in my mouth has an indescribable sweetness , And the smell , The whole house can smell ; Pass the third level , The body shines , The darkest place , You can see a needle drop . I passed these three levels very quickly , Just as I was about to pass the fourth level , There was an accident .
One day at the end of June , Shifu invited more than 100 people to help cut wheat , I told Shifu , There will be many people tomorrow , I can't do anything by myself , Can you ask a senior brother to help me . Master said , Take your time , Everyone is busy . I can only get up in the middle of the night to steam steamed buns , Keep carrying water, cutting firewood, burning water and steaming steamed buns , Busy till afternoon , I'm so tired , With firewood in one hand, he fainted beside the stove , I didn't wake up until the next afternoon . Monks are afraid of labor , After waking up , I feel pain all over , There is no way , The essence of the whole body came out . But the master also said , Let me hurry up , Because nobody cooks .
I feel very sad . I took off my coat and hat , Take a pair of scissors and kneel down in front of the master and say , The master , Would you cut my hair for me , I'm not a monk anymore . The elder martial brothers eat what I cook every day , Are crying and reluctant to let me go , But I must go . I thought. , Becoming a monk is to escape life and death , Instead of escaping, I was tired to death , You might as well go begging . later , I went to the eight immortals palace in Xi'an with a Taoist friend , It has recovered for more than two years , I don't feel faint when I walk .
All the monks in the eight immortals palace know that I will become a Taoist in the future . There is a Taoist friend , It was more than 90 when I left , He fell on the ground and gave me nine kowtows , It makes me feel bad , I was in my thirties . I said, elder martial brother, what's wrong with you ？ He said , I can't become a Taoist in my life , I don't know what to turn into after I die , If it turns into cattle, horses and animals , Save me when you become a Taoist .
My beard was white when I was thirty-nine . At that time , There are many soldiers , No matter monks or Taoists, they should pull . I thought. , If only the beard were white , The soldiers came to pull , You stand on the ground , He sees you as an old man with a white beard , I'll give you a few butts at most , I don't care about you . I think so , Thinking about , Few months. , The beard is really white .
In the eight immortals palace , My main energy is on studying medicine . I studied medicine because when I was a child, I wished to see a poor man .
My mother was ill once , At that time , Come back from begging every day , I shouted before I entered the yard “ niang ”, I'm afraid I can't hear her answer . The doctor in the village is an old woman , To cure my mother , I took my brother and sister to kneel at her door early in the morning , She didn't think my family could afford to pay for medical treatment until the evening when she came to my house to see my mother under the persuasion of her own son . My mother has typhoid fever , Put some blood and the fever will go away . To that doctor , I thanked her and hated her .
The Taoist brothers in the eight immortals palace can all heal , They also have a lot of medical books . Ten ways and nine medicines , No one knows the meridians of the body better than the Taoist . If a monk is really moved, he can return to the common customs and get married openly , There is no need to be furtive . When I was young , A rich woman in Xi'an is very kind to me , Want to buy a house in Xi'an and marry me , And give me five mu of land to build a temple , I didn't promise . On the way out , She gave me her Japanese woolen coat , Neither do I . She said that other monks asked me for things , I'll give it to you. Why don't you ？ I said how strange it is for a monk to wear a Japanese woolen coat ？ I still remember that the woman lived in the third house in the south of the East Road of Jiefang intersection in Xi'an city . however , This was before liberation .
At the time of Liberation , Many monks in the eight immortals palace run out , India 、 Japan , And Hong Kong 、 Taiwan , Anyone who wants to run anywhere , They say new go-vern-ment Most people have no religion , Take care of religious people . I didn't run , They didn't take care of me either , It's just “ Break the four old ” Time forces me to return to the common customs . I don't want to , I hid in Zhongnan Mountain sect pharmaceutical factory to see the warehouse . When it's okay , I'll look around for places suitable for monasticism . I have run all over the nearby hills , Only then did we find the one called by the local villagers “ Eight trigrams top ” The place of . There are many strange stones in that place , It is said that Fuxi set up the eight trigrams array there . You said it happened ？ I used to be a fortune teller , A nickname is “ Eight trigrams immortals ”, All this was arranged by my Lord . I decided to practice in a small temple on the top of the eight trigrams . I took two axes 、 Two firewood knives and some Food goes up , Start building small huts , The house was not built , The food is gone , When it rains, I will stand against the stone wall and sleep , Eat pine needles when you are hungry ,《 Shennong Ben cao jing 》 It says that pine needles are immortal food , It is the Taoist medicine that can make the valley grow and become immortal , All diseases are cured .《 Compendium of materia medica 》 It is also said that pine needles can cure all diseases , Install the five internal organs , Raw hair , Cold and heat resistance , Weather proof , Lighten your body and replenish qi , Keep the middle and prolong the year . therefore , I planted pine trees in front of and behind the hut , Every day I meditate under the pine tree , The pure Qi of pine trees is very helpful to practice .
A man of practice is lonely , No need for friends . Now there are many friends among powerful people , When they are no longer officials , Difficult , And see if they have any friends ？ Nobody asked me at the poor Station Street , Rich people have distant relatives in the mountains , A friend of wine and meat , A couple of rice noodles , These are the truth .
When I first lived in the mountains , Few people collect herbs , There are only two seasons in a year , They came up occasionally to pick Acorus . At that time, Acorus calamus cost several cents a kilo , Now it has risen to forty or fifty yuan a kilo . The number of drug collectors is directly proportional to the drug price . Acorus calamus is a good thing , But I seldom eat , I don't eat wild ginseng . There are many good things , Can't eat , No matter how good the body doesn't need . The food on the mountain is hard won , I memorized them little by little . once , The mountaineers who came to lodge to collect herbs threw the leftover rice into the dunghill of the toilet , I saw it , Pick up the upper layer , Wash it with water and cook it . after , They never wasted food again .
I'm timid , A man in the mountains is afraid , Just read 《 Lingguan tells 》. Read it ten times , The mountain wind can blow into the house , It's like this every day , I think , It's not good to disturb the master like this , Can you ask the mountain god to find me a companion ？ That's the idea , It was dark the next day , A tiger in the back of the mountain came crying . I saw the tiger coming , Use a stick to firm the door top . But the tiger just lay on a stone not far away , Nor come here . Two days a day , It comes every night , I knew it was the mountain god who found me a companion . later , I opened the door , It looks at me , Still don't come . After a month , A senior brother came to me at the top of the eight trigrams , I told him. , It's getting dark and a tiger is coming , Don't be afraid of . But , From that day on , The tiger knows I have company , Never came again .

Four There are a hundred immortals in the sky , Seventy of them became Taoists in Zhongnan mountain . Our biggest goal in entering the Tao is to become an immortal . If you can't be immortal , You can't help yourself . Where is a man destined to die , In a pit or a depression ？ That is immovable . besides , How to die ？ Whether it is freezing, starvation or death is certain . Do good deeds to increase your life , Doing bad things will reduce your life , But no matter how many years , When you die, you have to go back to the place you were meant to be . Master Nandou , Beidou master died . I have a hill behind the house at the top of the eight diagrams , I call it “ Baidouyan ”, A clear night , I often kowtow to the Big Dipper , Hundreds at a time . occasionally , The grandmaster will turn into a big star , Let me see , I know there are no stars in that place .
I've seen immortals twice in my life , Once in the mountains , Once in the city , Unfortunately, the chance is not good enough , Have not been able to get enlightenment .
Is it easy to go to heaven ？ Who can spare no effort 、 Climb into the sky without any coolies ？ In the past, people have been visiting Tao outside for decades in order to learn Tao , Now many people call on their teachers in the morning , Later, I wanted to seek Tao , I want to learn skills after two visits , Although it is a family heirloom , A few words . Where you live, where you die , Point out the key points , You can escape life and death by working hard at the place of life and death . It was not eaten during the famine years , How to endure the new year , It is not necessary to practice Buddhism in ordinary times .
Now there are more people practicing Taoism than in previous dynasties , Demons and ghosts have also come out . Buddhism has eighty-four thousand side doors , Our Taoism also has 3600 side doors . This kind of Tao 、 There are too many Tao , So that everyone doesn't know which one is true , Which is the false way , Good and evil people mixed up , People are confused , I really can't tell . and , Evil doers themselves do not consider themselves evil , They also feel that they are right . therefore , Evil ways are becoming more and more popular , The truth is fading away , Back to the end, there is no place to back , The truth comes naturally , The evil way will be destroyed naturally .
Some people say that my practice is not true . I don't know my blood type , Because I have never been to a hospital , I can count the diseases I have had all my life with one hand . Someone asked me about my book , I looked at the outline , Ask him , You publish books to teach others how to practice , Have you finished it ？ Is it your own spiritual experience ？ Copy one sentence from the East and one sentence from the West , This is not harmful ？ I asked the man in a sweat X L. Now many people are telling others how to fix it , It's all the wrong way , I'm scared to hear .
5、 ... and Now people are clamoring to meditate , But what is the purpose of meditation ？ Xiuxian ？ I haven't lost all my sundries , In a mess , The energy is exhausted , What are you meditating on , Take what to repair ？ What is really meditating is not “ body ”, It is “ Mind ”.
A posture that meditates for a long time is not good , Qi and blood are blocked . sit 、 It doesn't matter to lie down , Sitting comfortably is the most important thing , Only when the body is comfortable can the heart be at peace . The best time to meditate is Zishi and Yinshi , The midnight opens the sky , At the wrong time , In time everything happens . morning 3 Point to 5 Point is the most important practice time , A person can practice Kung Fu at this time all his life , There must be achievements . But always focus 、 Keeping God is also very important . Don't hold your breath, and don't keep your mind on Dantian , Meditation requires the mind not to move , Only when God stays with the body can he be healthy . The patriarch of Chongyang said that the three treasures are not lost , The three treasures are self-contained , Eyes do not see, ears do not smell, mouth does not speak, self growth . The same is true of seclusion , What should be closed is the three passes of eyes, ears and mouth , It is useless for some people to just lock themselves up without seeing anyone , Even if closed for three years, it won't work . The road is easy to get , It's hard to find a hole .《 Jing Jing 》 say “ People can always be clean , Heaven and earth are gone ”, As long as people can sit there quietly , The energy of heaven and earth can come back . When the body and mind can be one , The body naturally changes , At that time , Nature will guide us how to open that hole . No matter where , Sit still when you have time , Don't think too much , Concentrate and regulate your breath , Regulate breath and concentrate . The body has enough energy reserves , When water flows, a channel is formed , Yuan Shen returns to his position . Posture doesn't matter , If double cross legged can be turned into a fairy , I already tied myself up .
The master said , The road is simple but not complicated , Tao is simple , The complex is not Tao . Eat less meat , Eat more vegetables , Take a walk under the moonlight . Let's put down all the reasons , Longevity is like Pengzu . Those deceptive tricks are annoying .
