浅谈IEEE会议论文的不出席政策Non-Presented Paper(No-Show)Policy

一般来说,会议论文设计的初衷是让中稿者在现场口头展示论文(oral)或者在大会现场海报处值守介绍论文(poster),不过由于近年来疫情的形式,出于健康考虑要出国是比较难的,造成的结果可能就是去不了现场参会。那么对于不在现场参会这一行为,有的组委会不会管,而有的会议则管的比较严,例如:
- 论文将不会被出版。The paper will not be published by IEEE.
- 论文的版权仍将收归IEEE所有。The copyright of these papers will belong to IEEE.
- 笔者注:这实际上是IEEE SPS社区内自己的规则。ICASSP作为SPS旗下的会议,因此使用了上述出席规则。
- 作者将被列入黑名单至少两年,EMBS旗下的会议将会直接拒稿黑名单中的作者。Authors who are listed to the EMBS no-show list will be included on said list for a period of no less than 2 years. The list of no-shows will be made available to All EMBS Conference organizers, and said organizers may reject submissions from authors included on the no show list.
- 论文接收后不保证出版。Acceptance to the conference does not guarantee or imply the guarantee of publication.
- 笔者注:这实际上是IEEE EMBS社区内自己的规则。EMBC作为EMBS旗下的会议,因此使用了上述出席规则。
- 最好线下参会,但是仍可以线上。In-person paper presentations are preferred, virtual presentations options will also be made available.
- 笔者注:(可能由于是早了一年的原因)虽与ICASSP同为SPS旗下的会议,但在本身并非线上线下混合会议的情况下,仍允许线上参会,相对较为宽松。
- IEEE鼓励撤稿或者限制对非参会论文的访问。To encourage attendance, IEEE recommends that conferences exclude or limit the distribution of any paper that was not presented at the conference.
- 在会议开始前必须显式通知作者参会要求。You must clearly notify your authors prior to the start of the event if you plan to exclude or limit the distribution of non-presented papers.
- 笔者注:简单来说就是看主办方心情。如果主办方要求你必须来,他们大概率会在网站上进行显式的注明参会要求,而没有注明的话可能要求就没那么严。
总结:随着国外疫情逐渐放松管控,国际会议逐步转为纯线下,现场参会确实是一个值得讨论和分析的问题。
