Legacy Evolution

The evolution of legacy systems can adopt four strategies: integration, renovation, elimination, and inheritance.This strategy corresponds to the combination of technical level and business value.

• High level, low value, corresponding to integration, targeting information silos.
• High-level, high-value, corresponding to transformation, including system function enhancement and data model transformation.
• Low level, low value, corresponding to elimination.
• Low level and high value correspond to inheritance. When developing a new system, it needs to be fully compatible with the functional model and data model of the legacy system.
