1. Hilbert - The basic idea of Huang transform

In response to the shortcomings of wavelet transform in signal analysis , Mr. Huang Zhen of NASA proposed a new data processing method , namely Hilbert-Huang Transformation . This method mainly includes empirical mode decomposition （Empirical Mode Decomposition,EMD） Methods and Hilbert Transform these two parts to form . Its main idea is , First, the original signal is decomposed into a finite number of eigenmode functions by empirical mode decomposition method （Intrinsic Mode Functions, IMF） And , And then use Hilbert Transform to construct the corresponding analytic signal , The instantaneous amplitude and frequency of the time series are further obtained , Signaled Hilbert Spectrum . Different from wavelet analysis ,EMD The decomposition method is based on the signal's own time scale characteristics , Wavelet decomposition is based on a priori harmonic function and wavelet function , therefore , Hilbert Huang transform has considerable advantages in objectivity and resolution .
