【公开课预告】超分辨率技术在视频画质增强领域的研究与应用

随着终端大屏化趋势加快，高品质内容供给匮乏将成为互联网在线视频平台遇到的最大问题。因此，以人工智能超分辨率算法提供高分辨率、高画质的视频内容已经是必然选择，也将成为高品质视频行业能够大规模发展面临的挑战。

本次分享将分为三个部分，第一部分介绍超分辨率技术及面临的挑战；第二部分介绍超分辨率技术的研究现状；第三部分介绍超分辨率技术在视频画质增强领域的探索与尝试，侧重4K/8K超高清画质增强、动漫修复、老片翻新、VR360视频修复等应用场景的探索与实践。

【公开课预告】Optimizing AV1 performance for online video streaming and real-time communications

The AV1 video compression format is developed by the Alliance for Open Media (AOMedia) industry consortium, and achieves more than a 30% reduction in bit rate compared to its predecessor VP9 for the same decoded video quality. However, the encoder complexity of AV1 is much higher than VP9.

In this presentation, we will discuss the optimization technologies in libaom AV1 encoder. In video-on-demand (VOD) encoding, the encoder complexity has been reduced to the complexity level of VP9 encoder while still achieving 22% bit rate savings. The optimized AV1 encoder offers a superb solution for online video streaming services (e.g. YouTube), reducing the encoding cost and generating huge bandwidth and storage savings. Libaom AV1 also provides a super fast real-time encoder for real-time communications (RTC). AV1 real-time encoder has been adopted in Google Duo, which empowers video conferencing at very low bitrates.
