Kioxia and Aerospike Collaborate to Improve Database Application Performance

Tests show significant improvements in software and storage class memory capabilities
Kioxia Corporation today announced a partnership with Aerospike to enhance the Aerospike Server Community Edition database.The application performance of the database has been improved by 36% compared to the original software, which was not enhanced by Kioxia.The test is based on the Kioxia FL6 series of enterprise-class NVMe® Storage Class Memory (SCM) solid-state drives and a software enhancement developed by Kioxia.
Aerospike databases are optimized to run on both flash and solid-state drives, enabling the high throughput and low latency of flash.
Featuring Kioxia's SCM solution XL-FLASH® and compliant with PCIe® 4.0 and NVMe 1.4 standards, the Kioxia FL6 series SSDs bridge the gap between DRAM and TLC hard drives, making them ideal for latency-sensitiveUse cases such as caching tiers, tiering, and write logging.Currently, Kioxia dual-port FL6 series hard drives are in mass production, offering high endurance (60 DWPD) and capacities up to 3,200 GB.
Kioxia will announce detailed Aerospike test results during its keynote at Flash Memory Summit on August 2.
