In this output ,time The value shows the network delay between the two hosts , If it's worth a lot , It means that the network delay is very large , The unit is millisecond . At the end of this output , It's a summary of the above output ,packet loss Indicates the packet loss rate of the network , The smaller the value , The higher the quality of the network , The faster the response speed . This example sent 7 A package , Only received 6 individual , therefore , Yes 14% The packet loss rate , The average network delay is 36.929ms.

It is generally used to judge network connectivity ping and traceroute Tools ,ping You can judge the packet loss rate and delay ,traceroute Can be used to track routes , But there is a better tool for judging network connectivity , It can combine ping nslookup traceroute To judge the relevant characteristics of the network , The order is mtr, Please see the output below ： 

Can dynamically display routing information , In this way, you can easily understand 8.8.8.8 What routes have you experienced , At which hop did you lose your packet , And the packet loss rate can be seen .

mtr Route trace command The meaning of the output item is as follows ：

• Host Column is passing by IP Or local domain name
• Loss% The column is the corresponding IP OK, packet loss rate , It is worth mentioning that , Only the final target packet loss is the real packet loss .（ You can see which routing point has packet loss ）
• Last Column is the delay of the last return , In milliseconds （ Delay to each land travel point ）
• Avg Column is an average of all return delays
• Best Column is the fastest return delay
• Wrst Column is the longest return delay
• StDev Column is the standard deviation of delay  

The first jump of the machine is obviously an address of the gateway , This is the gateway address inside the server or computer room . If packet loss occurs on the first hop , Then it is obviously the problem of the internal network of the computer room , The next few hops may be at a routing node inside the machine room , It takes several routing nodes to get out . If there is no packet loss in the computer room, the operator can only solve it .

Above is mtr It can display the routing status to a host , In the process of routing, the delay and packet loss of each line can be clearly displayed . This is very helpful for us to troubleshoot problems .

traceroute Is a non dynamic method output .
