Differences between disk serial number, disk ID and volume serial number

1. Disk serial number

This can be seen on the hard drive label , Look for SN word , Determine for the manufacturer , similar mac Address , Is a unique attribute , And OS irrelevant , Even if the hard disk is formatted, it will not change .

2. disk ID

list disk;
select disk x;
detail disk;

3. Serial number of the volume

We know , A volume belongs to a disk , For example, a hard disk can have multiple partitions , Each partition is a volume .
Every section ( volume ) They all have a serial number .( It is estimated that it is used for unique identification )
windows command ：
Switch to the specified volume , Input vol, You can view the serial number of the current volume .

But here's the thing ： The serial number of this volume is not static . It will change .
