Reaction principle of Biotin-azide reagent:
Biotin-Azide is a PEG derivative containing a biotin group and an azide group.The azide group readily reacts with alkynes, DBCO, and BCN to form stable triazole bonds via click chemistry.Hydrophilic PEG spacers can increase the water solubility of biotin-conjugated molecules.It can also help minimize steric hindrance and provide additional flexibility through binding to stravidin and avidin molecules.
Azidobiotin reacts via copper-catalyzed click and terminal alkyne reactions, including via azide-alkyne cycloaddition to biomolecules containing alkyne groups.Biotin and biotin derivatives can be readily conjugated to various biomolecules by well-known click chemistry and then detected with streptavidin, avidin, or neutral avidin-biotin-binding proteins.Azidobiotin can be used to prepare various biotinylated conjugates by click chemistry.
