Four common ways of POST to submit data

POST is the most common method of requesting data in the front end. It is more secure than the GET request method and also supports larger data transmission.

The HTTP protocol divides the HTTP request into three parts: the status line, the request header, and the message body

The data submitted through POST needs to be placed in the message body of the request header. The following four formats are mainly supported. The server mainly determines how to decode the body by the Content-Type parameter of the request header.

application/x-www-form-urlencoded

This is the most common way to submit data by POST. It is the default encType value in

. The submitted data is encoded in the way of key1=val1&key2=val2, and both key and val are URLsTranscode.As shown:

This method can better support the submission of complex structured data, and the serialized JSON string is submitted to the server.As shown:

multipart/form-data

In order to improve the transmission efficiency of binary files, this method is generally used to upload files.At the same time, a boundary parameter will be added because of its special format, which is mainly used to separate multiple files and form items.As shown:

text/xml

This method is rarely used today to submit data to the server.

Summary

During joint debugging, after encountering the submitted data, the backend always says that it is not worth it, so the value of Content-Type must be considered.Although I have debated with my back-end partners about which data submission format is better, JSON or FormData, but no one has argued with anyone in the end.
