1. Background of the competition
In order to cultivate students' innovative awareness and the ability to solve practical problems using mathematical methods and computer technology, the Big Data and Mathematical Model Professional Committee of China Future Research Association, Tianjin Future and Prediction Science Research Association UniversityThe Data Branch decided to hold the Huashu Cup National Mathematical Modeling Competition for College Students.The goal of the competition is to cultivate the scientific spirit of college students and the ability to use mathematics to solve practical problems, lay the foundation for the cultivation of innovative talents, and cultivate and select outstanding talents for all walks of life.

The China Future Research Association is a subordinate group of the China Association for Science and Technology, a national first-level society, established in 1979.The sponsors are the State Science and Technology Commission, China Association for Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Ministry of Education, Peking University, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, Renmin University of China, Beijing Normal University, and Guangming Daily.Well-known experts and scholars Qian Xuesen and Mao Yisheng have successively served as consultants of the society.
The Professional Committee of Big Data and Mathematical Models of the China Future Research Association is based on the application of big data, and carries out research and enterprise cooperation in the fields of basic mathematics, applied mathematics, applied statistics, artificial intelligence, information security, and blockchain.The special committee is determined to cultivate more and more advanced big data and artificial intelligence talents with backgrounds in mathematics, statistics and computer knowledge for the country.
The Tianjin Future and Prediction Science Association was established in the early 1980s.The first president was personally served by the old mayor Nie Bichu.As a scientific research society, Tianjin Future and Prediction Science Association is affiliated with the School of Economics and Management of Tianjin University of Technology and is strongly supported by the school.In the past 40 years, he has undertaken and completed more than 100 national, provincial and ministerial-level projects, published nearly 100 monographs, published nearly 1,000 papers, and obtained a number of national patents.
III. Features of the competition
On the basis of traditional mathematical modeling, the competition adds thesis guidance and post-competition mathematical modeling technical guidance for contestants.The organizing committee will give a detailed written evaluation of the entries, point out the advantages and disadvantages of each paper, and analyze the competition questions in detail.The Organizing Committee invites excellent instructors of mathematical modeling to give the participating teams technical guidance throughout the modeling process. The guidance time will be from May 5 to September 5, 2022.After registration, you can join the exclusive study group to receive expert guidance.
As a full-real simulation before the national competition, the training plan is customized for the team through competition, and it provides help for students' follow-up mathematical modeling learning and the improvement of mathematical modeling level.
4. Competition time
1. Registration time: from now until 12:00 on August 4, 2022;
2. Competition time: August 4, 2022 (Thursday) 18:00 to August 7 (Sunday) 20:00;
3. Result announcement time: mid-August 2022;
4. Tutoring time: May 5 to September 5, 2022 (you can participate in tutoring after registration).
V. Participants
1. The competition is divided into three groups: graduate student group, undergraduate student group and junior college student group.
2. The participating teams are composed of team members (1-3 college students) and instructors (up to 1, or none), and registration is carried out on a team basis.
3. Groups are determined by the highest educational level of the team members.
6. Contest topics
The topics are generally derived from practical problems in various industries and formed through simplification. The contest topics are divided into three topics: A, B, and C. The topic type and difficulty are similar to those of the national competition.This competition can also be used as a mock competition before the national competition.
