Excel advanced drawing techniques, 100 (22) - how to respectively the irregular data

The picture below is a customer order sent by the sales department. According to different order quantities, the colors and codes of various products are squeezed into one cell.

We need to organize such a table into a standardized data, so that the customer name, category, and product code and color quantity information are stored in separate rows.

It is actually very simple to achieve such an effect. Next, let's take Excel 2019 as an example to see the specific operation steps:

Step 1

Click any cell in the data area, click [Data]→[From Table/Range], and click [OK] in the pop-up [Create Table] dialog box.

Step 2

At this point, Excel will automatically open the Data Query Editor.

Click the column with mixed content, that is, the [Commodity Code and Color] column, and then click the [Start] → [Split Column] → [By Separator] command.

In the dialog box, select Custom, enter the actual interval symbol in the table (in this case, the Chinese comma), click [Advanced Options], and set the split to "rows".
