Time to complete a basic operation . One state cycle is equal to two clock cycles . The relationship between machine cycle and clock cycle depends on SCM

• Clock cycle

Clock cycle be equal to 1/ clock frequency

• Instruction cycle

The time required to execute an instruction

Equal to one or two machine cycles

What we operate directly is instructions , Only through the machine cycle can it match the clock cycle , To get the time ！
